Ola, gourmets! Today we are preparing Michelada cocktail. Michelada is a traditional Mexican cocktail – a real blend of light beer, tomato juice and hot sauce. Michelade is incredibly refreshing in hot weather. It has a unique taste, and should not be confused with tomato beer from craft breweries.
The uniqueness of the Michelada cocktail is that in every sip you can feel the aroma of lime essential oils, the bright taste of tomatoes, a slight hint of salinity of soy sauce and the burning aftertaste of hot sauce. We used a sauce based on Habanero pepper, but Sriracha, Tabasco or any other hot sauce will do.
The rim of a glass or mug for this cocktail is usually decorated with a slice of lime, salt and hot pepper powder. To do this, mix salt and red pepper powder on a plate (use paprika to reduce the sharpness), lubricate the rim of the glass with lime and dip the rim into the mixture.
Since the cocktail is Mexican, the beer should also be Mexican. We took the Corona Extra, as there is no other available. From the analogues of Mexican beer or another lager beer without the pronounced bitterness of hops.
