Dough for maultaschen

Here you will find a dough recipe for German dumplings. German dumplings, they are also Maultashen, have been cooked in Germany for at least 300 years. The recipe for the dough is simple, it can also be used to make homemade noodles.

Ingredients:

Flour — 500 grams
Salt — 1 teaspoon
Chicken egg — 2 pieces
Olive oil — 1 tablespoon
Water — 3 tablespoons

Directions:

1. Sift the flour through a sieve.
2. Add salt and olive oil to the flour and mix.
3. Add two chicken eggs to the flour.
4. If the dough is too tight, then add 3-5 tablespoons of water, at your discretion.
5. Knead the dough with your hands or in a food processor for 5 minutes.
6. Wrap the dough in a cellophane bag and send it to the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
7. Divide the finished dough into 4 parts.
8. Roll out one part of the dough and cut into squares of 8 cm (3.2 inches) wide, the thickness of the dough is 3 mm (1/8 inch). You should get about 4-5 squares.
9. Repeat with the remaining dough.
