What is Tantuni?

Tantuni is a hot roll of pita bread and filling, originally from Turkey. Chicken tantuni is perfect for a quick snack, just like any street food. Homemade Tantuni consists of first boiled and then fried pieces of chicken fillet with the addition of tomatoes and sweet bell pepper. The juiciness of the dish is given by onions and parsley with a mixture of sumac. Sumac is a spice from the red berries of the plant, has a slightly sour taste. Often sumac is added instead of vinegar or salt.
