Homemade Hummus Recipe

Homemade Hummus is a traditional dish of the Middle East. There is a lot of debate where and when hummus appeared… We won’t argue! The best hummus is the one that you cook yourself at home.

The composition of the perfect hummus:

– tahini

– chickpeas

– garlic

– olive oil

– cumin

is a pinch of your love for cooking!

We are looking for tahini here.

We take canned chickpeas or soak them overnight (at least 12 hours) and boil for another hour.

How to cook?

Mix everything! A blender, a combine harvester will help or a large mortar will help you!

Ingredients:

Ground cumin — ½ teaspoon
Chickpeas (canned) — 250 grams (1 jar)
Garlic — 2-3 cloves
Lemon juice — 1 lemon (60 ml)
Olive oil — 30 ml
Water — 30-45 ml
Tahini sauce — 60-100 ml
A pinch of ground paprika or sumac — for serving

Directions:

1. Mix the ingredients in your food processor or blender.
2. Add water gradually in portions. Otherwise, too much liquid hummus may turn out.
Serving: Serve at any time of the day and in any form!
