How to make Irish Stew?

This rich and hearty Irish Beef and Guinness Stew is the perfect comfort food on a cold day. It is made from the world famous Irish Guinness beer! Great for any day of the year!

Today I post one of my favorite recipes of Irish cuisine is Irish beef and stewed Guinness beer. Cook it for a few hours, but in the oven at high temperature and one hour is enough.

This is your dream stew. I was in love with it when I first tried it in an Irish pub late at night.

Ingredients:

Potatoes – 2 pieces of medium size
Carrots – 1 piece of medium size
Beef – 400 grams
Onion – 1 piece of medium size
Parsley – bunch
Garlic – 1-2 cloves
Thyme – 1 sprig
Guinness beer – 0.5 liters
Puff pastry
Olive or vegetable oil for frying
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

1. Wash the beef and cut into small pieces.
2. Cut the onion and garlic into small pieces.
3. Peel and cut the potatoes into pieces like beef.
4. Heat the oil in a frying pan.
5. Fry the beef until half cooked.
6. In a bowl put the beef (oil from frying can also be added, so it will be richer taste to the soup) and vegetables, salt and pepper to taste.
7. Pour Guinness beer to the ingredients, if not enough, you can add chicken broth or water. Lid off!!!
8. Send the pot in the oven for 40 minutes. The cooking temperature is 220 degrees Celsius.
9. Add parsley and thyme
10. After 40 minutes, remove the pot and cover it with puff pastry. Put back in the oven for 20 minutes until the dough is covered with a Golden crust on top.
